2019 Cab Malbec – a RayJ favourite 91/100

Esteemed The West Australian wine writer, Ray Jordan, has hit the nail on the head with our new release 2019 Margaret River cabernet malbec – making note of its excellent value-for-money attributes ($20).

“The Paul Conti cab malbec is an excellent example of why this blend works so well, especially in these lower priced categories.

“For a few years, winemakers started to move away from malbec to merlot as a blending option, but more recently, more wines using malbec are being released. It’s the brighter, ripe characters of malbec that make it an ideal variety.

“If you’re looking for a value-for-money red wine then this little guy is right up there.

“It’s medium bodied with good fruit intensity showing those blackcurrant and red fruit florals.

“The tannin and oak contribution work well, allowing the generous fruit characters to emerge.

“Really nice wine for drinking over the next few years.”

Score: 91/100
