Museum 2014 chenin blanc – “bloody delicious!”

During a recent re-shuffling of the cellar-floor, Jason made the delightful discovery of some cleanskin 2014 chenin blanc stock.

Like many aged chenin blanc varieties, it carries the perfect marriage of clean acidity and nectar-like sweetness. We decided to hand a bottle to local wine blogger @jmcgvino, John McGeehan, and this is what he kindly delivered:

“My friends at @paulcontiwines have a cracking deal released just for the weekend! Museum release 2014 #cheninblanc #cleanskins case (12x750ml) for just $90!

How does it taste? Well it’s bloody delicious. Pale gold on appearance, nose is an explosion of honeycomb, apple juice & acacia flowers. Palate is off-dry, almost medium sweet with notes of apple strudel, there’s a well rounded bottle developed honeyed richness balanced with light acidity which indicates the wine is at its peak right now.

The unique Swan Coastal limestone soils where Conti’s home “Tuart” vineyards are located (which put their Chenin wines on the map all those years ago) offers a lovely limestone minerality to this beauty too.

Spicy oriental dishes or a Madras Indian Curry will match brilliantly. $90/case of 12 = $7.50/bottle. Stocks limited and won’t last!

**This is a cellar door exclusive (yes they’re open for sales but no tastings) & can do free delivery by one of the Conti-clan to the suburbs around the Woodvale winery (postage may apply further afield) but do enquire at time of purchase and they’ll do their best to accommodate!

Give the cellar door a visit or give them a call (08) 9409 9160** “
